In 2002 a new P.R.I.M.E. relationship was established between Alexian Brothers Medical Center (ABMC) and the Graduate Theological Foundation. The course work will take place under the direction of ABMC in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
The courses will be in four areas of study. The first is Human Development including instruction on human sexuality, psychopathology and human life cycles. The second field of study is Marital and Family Studies including systems theory, ethnic issues in marriage and family therapy and spirituality and the family process. The third focus area is Marriage and Family Therapy which deals with basic marriage and family therapy and basic and advanced techniques in marriage and family therapy. The final area of concentration is research and statistics in marriage and family therapy which will include a practicum.
The arrangement with the Alexian Brothers Medical Center allows for students taking their two year full-time program and completing all assignments along with required readings and a final project required by the Foundation to be eligible for the Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling or Doctor of Psychology degree with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy.
