William Glisson is Justice Earl Warren Professor of Law and Social Values. Dr. Glisson has practiced criminal law for 33 years and is licensed in Illinois and Georgia, in both state and federal courts. He is also licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. He is one of few Illinois lawyers certified by the Illinois Supreme Court to function as chief counsel in a Capital case. He has defended thousands of felonies and misdemeanors during his career. Dr. Glisson holds the Doctor of Jurisprudence from Atlanta Law School, the Bachelor of Arts from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, the Master of Divinity from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, Illinois, and the Ph.D. in Pastoral Psychology from the Foundation. In addition, he has studied philosophy at Northern Illinois University. He has a special commitment in actively pursuing the transformation of humanity. He is an ordained minister with the Progressive Baptist Church of Aurora, Illinois, and Professor of Bio-Medical Ethics and Introduction to Philosophy at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
