Brian Taylor is Professor of Sacred Music. He holds the Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir College, the Master of Divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, the Master of Music and Master of Sacred Music degrees from Southern Methodist University and the Doctor of Sacred Music degree from the Graduate Theological Foundation. His organ teachers have included Vernon E. Smitley, Miriam Belleville, George Markey, Eugene Roan and Robert T. Anderson. Dr. Taylor currently serves as Organist-Choirmaster of St. John's Episcopal Church in Savannah, Georgia, where he conducts a Girls Choir, Men & Boys Choir and Mixed-voice Choir. The combined choirs have recorded two compact discs and undertaken week-long residencies at Truro Cathedral in 2003 and Lichfield Cathedral in 2007. Previously, Dr. Taylor served Episcopal, Congregational and Presbyterian parishes in Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, New Jersey and Michigan. He has concertized in the United States, Canada and once in Brazil. Dr. Taylor has published two anthems with Sonare Publications as well as several articles. He is an active member of both the American Guild of Organists and the Association of Anglican Musicians. Since 2008 he has served as Organist-Choirmaster to the Latin Mass Community at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cathedral in Savannah.
