Thesis Supervision

The following is a partial listing of individual scholars who have assumed the responsibility of serving as an Thesis Supervisor (Ordinarius) to a Foundation Ph.D./Th.D. student. This title suggests that the supervising scholar has agreed that the doctoral dissertation, upon submission to the Foundation Deans and Faculty, is an original work of scholarship contributing to the field. No student is allowed to defend the dissertation until the Thesis Supervisor (Ordinarius) has given a signed endorsement of its academic and scholarly merit.

Ph.D. and Th.D. students are not limited to this roster of thesis supervisors as each student is encouraged to nominate the supervisor of his/her choice. These are listed to illustrate the range and depth of thesis supervision over the past few years. Though students are encouraged to nominate a supervisor from the Foundation's faculty roster (see profiles for detailed descriptions), they are not required to do so. If a thesis supervisor is nominated from outside the Foundation faculty, the student must submit a letter of nomination with a c.v. for the nominated supervisor and must receive a letter of approval from the Academic Affairs Committee before proceeding. A Letter of Contract from the Office of the Provost is sent to the nominated supervisor upon approval by the Academic Affairs Committee.
