Waleed Edreese al-Meneese is Professor of Islamic Studies. He is Vice President of the Islamic University of Minnesota and a member of the Educational Committee at the American Open University. Since 2000 Dr. Meneese has been Imam and President of the Board of Trustees of Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. For the past nine years Dr. Meneese has been a member of the Permanent Fatwa Committee, of the Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of the North American Imams Federation (NAIF). He holds the Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language from Alexandria University and the Master's degree in Islamic jurisprudence from the American Open University, Washington, D.C. Dr Menesse holds the Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Jurisprudence from the Graduate Theological Foundation.
