The Oxford Summer Programme in Theology is now accepting applications for its 2012 session to be held from August 12-25 on the campus of Christ Church College, Oxford University, dating from the 16th century. The theme of this year's summer program is "Texts and Images." This prestigious program attracts course tutors who are Oxford scholars as well as theologians and Church figures from around the world.
This month, Dr. Kathryn Lohre begins her term as President of the National Council of Churches, having been installed in November 2011. Dr. Lohre is the second youngest person to ever serve in this role. She will serve a two-year term as President from January 2012-December 2013. The Graduate Theological Foundation congratulates Dr. Lohre and wishes her the best of luck and much success in her new role!
In 2011, the Foundation invited Kathryn Lohre to receive a Doctor of Divinity honoris causa "in recognition of her historic election to the office of the President of the National Council of Churches as the first Lutheran to hold this office and the first woman to succeed a woman as president of the NCC"...
