Mary Kendall Hope, Ph.D.

Mary Kendall Hope is Professor of Mediation Studies.  Dr. Hope is Doubly Certified as both a Superior and District Court Mediator in the state of North Carolina and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of North Carolina.  To date, she has written and published seven original books in the field of Mediation and Conflict Resolution. An additional four-book set with Chief Officer Richard Brewer (Director of GTCC Police Academy) to train Police & Fire/EMS First Responders in Conflict Resolution skills is now available for use for Police/Fire/EMS Cadets. Dr. Hope earned a Master of Arts from Webster University and the Doctor of Philosophy from both Nova Southeastern University and the Graduate Theological Foundation. Her current research project is "Transcending Cycles of Violence: The Link:  Reconnecting the LiNK in the Chain."  She has been an instructor at the GTF since January of 2007.  Dr. Hope was recently named Assistant Professor of Peace & Conflict Studies at Guilford College to begin in the fall of 2015.
